One Colour Only - Stamping with the Dragon Challenge.

Hello all and welcome to my Scrapbook and Digital Creations blog.

My post today  is for the  Stamping with the Dragon challenge which started on the 2nd August last with the new theme of ' One Colour Only'.

The rule is simple, just one colour, in all its hues and nuances, but just one colour. Not even white!
I tried to produce a card topper using blue to celebrate the arrival of a certain young prince, but the paler blues tended to look white, so I opted for pink instead.

The image I chose for this project is the Baby Snitch in a Crib digital stamp from Stamping Dragon Designs and I use my trusty photoshop software to do the colouring.

Welcone Little One

This is a square resizable cardtopper that can be printed out to your specific requirements and adhered to your chosen card front.  Keeping to the one colour rule, I started out by colouring the digital image in a pale pink and used the darker pinks to add shade and depth. I use the Cookie Cutter feature to cut the flowers and added some ligher pink circles that with the aid of photoshop I made into gems. Using blocks of pink colours, I added the layers to the image, adding a Drop Shadow to each layer.  To finish the topper I added the digital bow and the Welcome Little One text.  et Voila! the topper is ready to print.

Working in one colour is a good exercise in keeping things simple and combining colours from the same 'family' to create some harmony in your project.  I hope you give it a try and enter your creation in our challenge.

Now its your turn. Time to get crafting, and once your projects are ready, dont forget to come back and link up to our challenge. The prize for the winner is a £5 voucher to the
